If there is an indication for a medical ultrasound the costs will be covered by your insurance provider. Any indications will be discussed with you by the midwife. Growth or position ultrasounds are an example of medical ultrasounds.
All medical ultrasounds are conducted by an experienced sonographer from Verloskundig Centrum De Poort. These ultrasounds can be performed at our locations in Voorschoten and Rijnsburg.
Are you curious about the gender of your baby or would you like an extra ultrasound (for example a 3D/4D one)? This is all possible at our clinic! Non-medical ultrasound costs are not covered by your insurance provider. Plan your non-medical ultrasound via our website Echopraktijk Liva.
At Liva it is possible to conduct a vitality ultrasound (early ultrasound). This is possible at one of our clinic locations (Voorschoten and Rijnsburg) or at Verloskundig Centrum De Poort. Should there be an indication for this ultrasound (discussed beforehand with your midwife) then this ultrasound will be insured by your health insurance provider. If there is no indication but you would like to have this scan conducted click here.
After registering with Midwifery Practice Liva the assistant will inform you as to how you can plan the dating scan. The dating scan is intended to estimate the term of the pregnancy. This ultrasound is planned after your first appointment with the midwife. The ultrasound is performed around the 10th week of the pregnancy. If you are less than 10 weeks pregnant or the sonographic image is unclear, then it is possible that the ultrasound will be performed internally.
